AIRlert LIVE app privacy policy
App: AIRlert LIVE (Google Play package com.frequencyprecision.airlertliveboard)
Provider: Frequency Precision Ltd, United Kingdom
Contact: contact@frequencyprecision.com
Last updated: 14 September 2026
This policy explains what the AIRlert LIVE Android application collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and how to have it deleted. It applies to the app specifically. Our website privacy policy covers frequencyprecision.com.
What the app collects
- Account information. If you sign in, the email address and account name you use to access your AIRlert HUB. Used only to authenticate you and show the alerts and message board belonging to your HUB.
- Device or other identifiers. A device identifier is used to register the device for push notifications so alerts reach the right phone, and to keep you signed in. It is processed for that purpose only.
- Alert and message board content. Messages, alert events and sensor status shown on the live board come from the HUB your account is linked to. The app displays this data; it is held in your HUB account, not created by the app.
- Diagnostic information. Basic connection state (whether the device is online) so the app can switch to offline mode. This is not transmitted to us as an analytics profile.
Permissions and why they are needed
- Notifications so alerts can be delivered, including when the app is closed.
- Foreground service, run at startup, battery optimisation exemption so alert delivery keeps working after a restart and is not suspended by the system.
- Bluetooth to configure an AIRlert POCSAG sensor or shield over a direct local connection. Configuration data stays between the phone and the device. No Bluetooth scanning is used for location or advertising.
- Camera only when you choose to take or attach a photo, or scan a device code.
- Phone number and phone state only to pre-fill the number used for SMS alerting on your own account. The app does not read SMS messages or call logs, and holds no permission to do so.
How the data is used and shared
Data is used to operate the alerting service you have signed up for. It is not sold. It is not used for advertising or advertising profiling. It is shared only with the infrastructure providers needed to run the service (hosting, and push notification delivery through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging), and where we are required to by law.
Security and retention
Data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Account and alert data is retained for as long as your HUB account is active and is deleted when the account is deleted.
Deleting your data
You can request deletion of your account and its associated data at any time by emailing contact@frequencyprecision.com. Please send the request from the email address registered to the account. Account data is removed within 30 days of a verified request. Signing out of the app removes the locally stored session from the device.
Children
AIRlert LIVE is intended for adult carers and care professionals. It is not directed at children.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and may object to or restrict its processing. Contact contact@frequencyprecision.com. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
About the service
AIRlert LIVE is a beta community support and communication service. It is not an emergency service and must not be relied on as a life saving or emergency alerting system. See the AIRlert LIVE terms of use for the full description of the service and its limitations.
