Bed Pressure Mat for Nurse Call Systems

Yes, we can arrange this. We would normally ask for a purchase order, but can extend the due date of the invoice to allow you to try the equipment and return it to us before the invoice becomes due. Please contact us to arrange this.

Our sensors are designed to be easy to use and set up, and no special training or technical knowledge is required.

We offer unlimited remote support and are always happy to liaise with staff to ensure that your sensors can provide many years of trouble free service.

We are happy to arrange for staff to receive training via a Microsoft Teams or Zoom meeting - please contact us for details.

The product is guaranteed against any fault caused by a manufacturing defect for two years. Faulty but undamaged units will be repaired or replaced free of charge during this time period. We aim to complete and dispatch repairs within 24 hours. We would normally ask you to post the repairs to us using a recorded delivery service. Outside the warranty period, we can almost always repair units which are damaged or faulty for a small additional charge.

Our sensors are CE certified and we have strict quality control procedures to ensure that your sensors are reliable. As a company, we have regular audits and have achieved the ISO 9001 & ISO 45001 standards. Our sensors are classed as assistive care products and as such don't require regular calibration. The end user would be required to change the batteries (we suggest doing this annually) and regularly test the sensors as detailed in the manual.

All Airlert bed sensor mats are placed beneath the bed mattress and will work with a bed mattress and/or air mattresses on top. The mats can be bent and so work on profiling beds as well.

The bed mats are hard wearing. they last for many years. Unlike many of the other bed pressure mats on the market, our mats are the size of a full single size bed and contain nothing except for foam covered by a waterproof, flame-retardant polyester covering. They can be rolled up for storage and will work on all bed types including profiling beds and underneath air flow pressure relieving mattresses. They are positioned underneath the bed mattress.

The control box is powered by 2 x AA batteries which will last up to 3 years.

The pressure mat is robust and hard wearing. It contains a layer of foam with a waterproof, flame retardant polyester covering. There are no electronics inside the mat itself. The mat is located underneath the bed mattress and so doesn't come into contact with the patient. It is connected to the control box using a black PVC tube, which can be cut to any required length. The mat can be rolled up and stored and is supplied with it's own protective storage bag:

Overall, the mat is a quality, long-lasting product which is designed for intensive use and should last for many years.

The bed pressure mat and control box are both silent; they are plugged into your nurse call system using the same socked that you would plug the call bell into. When a person gets out of their bed, the nurse call system will activate in the same way as it does when the call bell is pressed.

We operate as a small team based in London. We are able to arrange a Microsoft Teams or Zoom demonstration using our hospital bed. We will also endeavour to answer any questions that you might have. We can provide free training to hospital or care home staff using Microsoft Teams or Zoom. We have found that doing demonstrations remotely allows us to offer you a faster response and greater flexibility.

The pressure mat can be folded over on itself so that it just covers the upper part of the bed, as shown in the photo below. In the photo, the bottom and top of the mat have been folded and tucked inside each other.

When used in this way, the sensor will trigger when the person takes their weight off the mat, by sitting up.

Case Studies

A motion sensor in the porch would send an alert to a bleeper pager which could be carried by a carer in the house. The motion sensor itself is silent, so wouldn't cause distress to the lady when she is trapped in the porch. The bleeper pager would trigger continuously as long as motion was detected inside the porch. Alternatively, a door sensor could be placed on the inside front door. The door sensor is silent, but would send an alert to a bleeper pager which could be carried by a carer around the house.

The call button with mobile phone alerts or fall sensor watch will send an alert to your mobile phone when the call button is pressed, but the user will not know that you have received the message. Reassurance could be provided by phoning the person back (if they don't answer this could indicate that they have fallen).

An alternative would be a community alarm system, read more on page 13 of this Age UK fact sheet - "Community alarm systems allow you to be linked up 24 hours a day to a central service offering help in an emergency. The link is usually by telephone, pull cord, pendant worn round your neck, or a combination of these. If you need to summon help urgently and are unable to make a normal telephone call, you can use the pendant, pull the cord or use a special button on the telephone to contact a control centre. This centre has people who talk to you, find out what you need and summon help as appropriate".

You could consider a range of sensors.

Abed pressure mat linked to a pager would be useful if you are most concerned about the client falling. It is discrete and will send a message to the linked pager as soon as the client gets out of bed.

Afloor pressure mat linked to a pager would send a message to the linked pager as soon as the client steps onto the mat. The floor pressure mat is more visible and may itself present a trip hazard. We would always recommend covering the floor pressure mat with a barrier mat.

A door sensor would alert you when the bedroom door opens, but is dependent on the bedroom door being shut at night. It also wouldn't alert you if the client is moving around their bedroom.

You could also consider a motion sensor which is supplied with a stand. This is portable and so could also monitor movement in other areas if needed. It can be positioned on the floor at the edge of the bed to pick up when the client gets out of bed. It could also be positioned outside the bedroom in a hallway or landing.

The bed leaving sensor has been designed to detect frail, older people getting out of bed. It is quite sensitive, so if your son was very active in bed there could be some false alarms - for example, if he lifts his weight off the bed using his arms. This could act as an early warning system that he is active in bed (i.e. has woken up in the night).

The second option could be a floor pressure mat positioned next to the bed, which would only trigger when he actually stepped out of bed.

The third option could be a motion sensor positioned out of reach on the wall. The direction of the beam can be adjusted so that it only triggers when he leaves his bed.

The door sensor with mobile phone alerts will connect to your home Internet and sends a message to a free smartphone app.

Chair Pressure Mat for Nurse Call Systems

The chair sensor pad is connected to a battery powered control box. The control box itself doesn't make a sound but is connected to your nurse call system. When a person gets out of the chair, the call system will activate in the same way as if a call bell had been pressed.

If the call system only has one socket, you can purchase a splitter plug which will allow both the call bell and the chair sensor to be plugged in.

We do offer extension leads but their use should be minimised and they should be secured to the wall to avoid creating a trip hazard for the resident.

An alternative would be to use a chair sensor linked to a wireless relay.

The wireless relay is a small box that plugs into the same socket as the call bell.

It will receive wireless signals from the chair sensor and trigger the nurse call point in the same way as a call bell. Any wireless sensors inside the bedroom can all be linked to the same relay. You would need to purchase a wireless chair sensor, and a wireless relay for nurse call systems. Please contact us for further information.

The sensor will trigger as a person is sliding out of the chair, before they actually fall to the ground.

When the person gets out of the chair, the nurse call system will activate in the same way as the call bell.

We feel that any alarm on the persons chair itself could be intrusive and would not be best practice. Please see:

Door Sensor & Bleeper Pager Set

The door sensor is powered by 1 x CR2032 button battery. We supply the sensor with the battery already fitted.

If the door sensor is activated 10 times per day, the battery should last for several months.

It is important to use high quality batteries and to ensure that the battery is inserted the correct way up - with the shiny side (+) facing up.

In this scenario, we would recommend this product which comes with a text pager. You can select multiple door sensors linked to one or more text pagers. Each door sensor can be programmed by us to display a unique message on the pager (e.g. room A, room B etc.). You can leave a note at the checkout to tell us which message you would like us to programme the door sensors to display on the pager.

Alternatively, you can purchase multiple door sensor/bleeper pager sets and we will put each set on a separate code. Please bear in mind that the bleeper pager won't display a message, so we will label the door sensor and bleeper pager with colour coded stickers so that you know which door sensor corresponds to which bleeper pager.

The main sensor is 100mm (length) x 37mm (width) x 10mm (depth) and the magnet is 45mm (length) x 10mm (width) x 10mm (depth).

There is no limit to the number of pagers that you can add.

To add extra pagers, click here .

Door Sensor with Mobile Phone Alerts

Yes, you can download the app onto as many Apple or Android (version 8.1 or above) devices as required.

Each user will need to add the base station within the app, using the base station ID number and password.

The app runs in the background on your phone and generates a push notification when an alert is received.

You can select a range of alert notification sounds within the app.

You can add an unlimited number of extra sensors:

Door Sensor

Call Button

Fall Sensor Watch

Pull Cord

The base station can be up to 100 meters away from the door sensor, although the distance could be reduced by thick walls.

The simplest solution is to connect the base station to a timer plug. This will allow you to control the hours that the base station is switched on. We can supply a timer plug if required - please leave a note at the checkout.

You can also manually set the alerts to be silent within the app.

Easy Press Call Button & Pager Set

Yes, this sounds like the right product.

The Easy Press Call Button is a large red squashy button (10cm in diameter) which is connected to a very sensitive control box. The button can be activated by the lightest of touch, so is suitable for people with limited functional dexterity.

The range between the pager and the control box can be up to 200m.

The button is supplied with 2 meters of tubing so it can be positioned anywhere. The tubing can be cut shorter if needed.

Mobile Phone Software

The app runs in the background on your phone and generates a push notification when an alert is received.

You can select a range of alert notification sounds within the app.

You can add an unlimited number of extra sensors:

Door Sensor

Call Button

Fall Sensor Watch

Pull Cord

The simplest solution is to connect the base station to a timer plug. This will allow you to control the hours that the base station is switched on. We can supply a timer plug if required - please leave a note at the checkout.

You can also manually set the alerts to be silent within the app.

Motion Sensor & Pager Set

The motion sensor detects movement in front of the sensor, a bit like a sensor that turns on a security light. The sensor itself is silent. It is supplied with a stand, so it can be positioned in any location with a flat surface.

For example, it could be positioned against the bed, to pick up movement when a person gets out of bed:

It could also be positioned next to a door:

It is powered by 2 x AA batteries (supplied) which will last for about 2 months.

The sensor contains a radio transmitter that is linked to a pager. The pager can be used up to 200 meters away and it will vibrate, flash and beep when it receives an alert. The pager is powered by 1 x AAA battery which will last for about 1 month.

When the sensor has a low battery, a blue light on the sensor will flash.

When the pager has a low battery, an orange light will flash on the front of the pager.

One Button Emergency Phone with GPS Tracker

The app will work on any Android or Apple device, including mobile phones and tablets. Search "Anytracking" in the Apple or Google Play store to download it.

The One Button Emergency Phone with GPS Tracker is simple to use, with one SOS button which can be pressed for a few seconds to contact family members.

When the SOS button is pressed, the device will send a text message to the nominated number and call up to three numbers in a cycle until somebody answers.

We will install and activate the SIM card for you and programme the numbers (we will send you a simple form to fill out when you place your order to allow you to fill out the numbers that you would like the device to contact when the SOS button is pressed).

We supply a USB cable with a magnetic connection that attaches to the GPS tracker to charge it.

Please note that a plug is not included so you will need to use your own plug with a USB socket.

When connected to the charger, a battery icon will appear on the screen to show that the device is charging. The screen will go to sleep after a few seconds but you can press the SOS button to see the battery percentage during charging.

The device will take a couple of hours to fully charge.

The WIFI fence allows you to receive a push notification on the app when the device moves outside of a pre-set WIFI area. This means that you could receive a notification when the person leaves the house once the tracker can no longer see the home WIFI network.

You can set a WIFI fence using the app.

The tracker is compatible with the 2.4 GHz WIFI band, but not the 5GHz WIFI band.

When you select a WiFi network within the app, only 2.4GHz networks will be listed.

Once you have set up the WIFI fence, the app will display a push notification when the One Button Emergency Phone with GPS Tracker goes outside the WIFI area.

You should also set the real time tracker interval to fast (1 minute) positioning so that the device will check it's location frequently.

The One Button Emergency Phone with GPS Tracker will move to the next number after 4 rings. This is to avoid an answerphone from picking up the call, which would prevent the device from moving to the next number. The length of the ring can't be changed for this reason. The device will continue to cycle through the numbers until one of them picks up.

Please fill out a VAT exemption form.

When you submit the form, a discount code will be displayed on the page (towards the top - you might have to scroll up). When you reach the checkout, you should enter the discount code into the discount code box.

The device has a fall sensor which can be turned on or off using the app.

This uses a built in gravity force sensor which will trigger which subjected to a sufficient gravitational force. The sensitivity can also be adjusted within the app.

Please be aware that the fall sensor has limitations and will not always activate because not all falls will generate a sufficient gravitational force (e.g. when sliding out of a chair or falling against a wall).

In addition, the device can be set to automatically answer incoming calls from any numbers which have been entered into the phonebook - so you could call the One Button Emergency Phone with GPS Tracker and ask if everything is OK. Your call would be heard on the speaker. If you didn't get a response, this could be an indication that the person is incapacitated.

This can be done using the app on the "settings" page.

The sensitivity of the fall sensor can be changed within the app on the "settings" page.

The device has 3 modes to detect the location.

1) GPS mode - if available, the device will always try to use GPS mode first. GPS mode will only work when the device is outdoors. The tracker will communicate directly with satellites (which is why GPS mode only works when the device is outdoors) to pinpoint the location.

When the location was accurate , it was in GPS mode.

If your mother subsequently walked under the trees, it would not have been able to use GPS.

It will then default to a second mode:

2) WIFI mode - if GPS mode isn't available, the device will look for a WIFI network and use this to give a location within a few hundred meters.

In the forest, the device would not find a WIFI network.

If it cannot find a WIFI network, the device will default to the third mode:

3) LBS mode - if WIFI isn't available, it will look for an EE mobile phone mast.

When the location was showing as 5 miles away, it was in LBS mode, which is less accurate.

It is possible to filter out WIFI mode and LBS mode, so the device will only show a location when in GPS mode.

Within the app, click "settings" and then click "about the device".

Then click the pencil icon and select "filter LBS" and "filter WIFI".

The One Button Emergency Phone with GPS tracker is supplied with a lanyard to wear around the neck. The item is a bit too bulky to wear on the wrist and there isn't a wrist strap available.

Yes - it can be returned within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

Similar to a typical smartphone, the One Button Emergency Phone with GPS Tracker is resistant to water, so can be used in outdoor environments. You should avoid getting it wet.

It should not be exposed to hot water or steam, so would not be suitable to use in the bath or shower. It should never be submerged in water.

Out of Bed Sensor with Mobile Phone Alerts

The mat is 1980mm (length) x 670mm (width) x 33mm (thickness) i.e. 2 feet and 2 inches wide. The mat should be positioned underneath where the person sleeps, or horizontally across the bed and folded back on itself.

There isn't a minimum weight as such, but it would useful for you to tell us if the person is under 6 stone when you place your order. We will adjust the sensor to be more sensitive.

The sensor will be triggered when a person gets out of bed and then doesn't return within a period of time.

We can set the timer to last for any length of time between 10 minutes and 1 hour.

If the person returns to bed before the timer runs out, the sensor won't trigger an alert.

To make the sensor as simple to use as possible, we will adjust the timer to your required time before sending the item out. It can't be adjusted by the user, but we can adjust the timer if the control box is sent back to us.

We have designed the sensor to be as simple to use as possible, so it isn't possible to turn the timer on and off.

The same bed mat can be connected to a different control box if needed, which will send an alert as soon as the person gets out of bed.

Please contact us for more information.

Yes - the base station is compatible with our full range of wireless sensors and extra sensors can be added at any time.

Yes you can. The bed sensor and the base station would be in the monitored house. The base station sends alerts to a free mobile phone app, so you would receive the messages from any location on your mobile phone. The only requirement would be for the monitored house to have an internet connection.

You will only receive an alert if the person doesn't return to bed within 20 minutes.

Wireless Bed Pressure Mat & Pager Set

The pressure mat can be folded over on itself so that it just covers the upper part of the bed, as shown in the photo below. In the photo, the bottom and top of the mat have been folded and tucked inside each other.

When used in this way, the sensor will trigger when the person takes their weight off the mat, by sitting up.

The bed pressure mat and control box are both silent, so the person who is getting out of bed won't hear a noise. When a person gets out of their bed, the linked pager will vibrate, beep and flash to alert the carer. The pager has a wireless range of up to 200 meters.

All Airlert bed sensor mats are placed beneath the bed mattress and will work with a bed mattress and/or air mattresses on top. The mats can be bent and so work on profiling beds as well.

The pager will work within a range of about 200 meters from the bed sensor.

The range will be reduced by thick walls or non-standard walls that might be present in older or historical buildings.

The control box has a test button which will trigger the pager, so that you can test the range.

You can also add a wireless range extender if needed.

The sensor mat can be used on a divan bed. It should be placed under the bed mattress, on top of the base of the bed.

The mat is 1980mm x 630mm and is about 30mm thick.

If you have a double bed, there are two options:

The mat can be placed horizontally across the width of the bed, around waist level and folded back on itself it it is too long.

Alternatively, to cover the full area of the bed you can purchase an additional bed pressure mat and connect the two mats together.

Wireless Bed Pressure Mats

The first option would be to purchase sensors that are supplied with a cable, to plug into your existing nurse call system.

The second option would be to purchase wireless sensors linked to an LED display board. The LED display board could be placed on a nursing station or mounted to the wall. It will beep and display a message when a sensor is activated, e.g. bed 7.

Wireless Call Button & Pager Set

You can purchase additional pagers by clicking here

You can purchase additional call buttons by clicking here

The bleeper pager will vibrate, flash and beep for up to 90 seconds (or until you press a button on the pager). The tone loudness is 85dB when held 4" (10cm) from the ear. This is generally loud enough to wake a person up.

Yes, this is possible. We would supply two sets, each on unique codes. One person could have a button and a pager, and the other person could have a button and a pager. When the carers pager activates, they could press their button to activate the other persons pager. Please ask us about this when you place your order (or leave a comment at the checkout) so that we know to put the two sets on different codes.

The longest is can be is 23cm (9"). It is 2cm wide.

It's 4.1cm(L)x 6.0cm(W) x 2.9cm(H).

We would recommend the wireless call button and bleeper pager set. The call button can be carried by your wife, and you can carry the bleeper pager.

The bleeper pager will vibrate, flash and make a loud noise for 90 seconds. It can be stopped sooner by pressing a button on the pager.

The Wireless Call Button & Bleeper Pager set is supplied with two waterproof cases for the call button. One waterproof case has a lanyard attached, and the other waterproof case has a leather wrist strap attached. You can choose which case to use; the button can be moved between cases by unscrewing the plastic cover on the back.

Please fill out a VAT exemption form on our website.

You will then be given a discount code to type into the discount box when you reach the checkout.

Wireless Call Button with Mobile Phone Alerts

A mobile phone is required to receive the alerts, but the person with the call button doesn't need to have a mobile.

Wireless Call Button with Relay for Nurse Call Systems

The wireless receiver is plugged into a mains socket and connects to the call bell socket of the nurse call system.

This will receive signals from the linked call button from any location in the same room.

We can supply a connecting cable for almost any nurse call system, including Eclipse.

Wireless Call Buttons

There is no limit to the number of call buttons that can be added.

The product page will allow you to add up to 10 call buttons and up to 3 pagers.

To add more call buttons click here

To add more pagers click here

Please be aware that the range between the call buttons and the pager is about 100 meters indoors; this could be reduced by thick walls etc. You can add one or more wireless range extenders to boost the signal if needed.

Wireless Convulsion Sensor & Pager Set

Our products are designed to work 'straight out of the box' and no special training or expertise is required to use them. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee, giving you the opportunity to try the products.

Any item can be returned to us (in a sellable condition) within the first 30 days for a full refund.

The epilepsy monitor will detect tonic-clonic generalised seizures (whole body shaking).

The sensitivity can be adjusted using a switch and fine tuned using a control knob on the front of the control box.

The switch can be set to "Rapid" (less sensitive) or "Slow" (more sensitive).

The sensitivity is then fine tuned using the dial.

In general, starting with the switch set to "Slow" and the dial about 1 O'Clock is a good place to begin. The person can then move around on the bed (to simulate rolling over in bed etc.) and the sensitivity can be adjusted. The person can simulate the movements typical of a seizure to make sure it triggers.

Yes the Sensor mat is set on a double bed, I have placed the mattress so that it covers where the resident generally sleeps. The control box has a sensitivity control to adjust to activate when person in seizure.

Our bed pressure mats will work on all types of bed, including beds with a slated base, profiling beds, hospital beds and underneath airflow pressure relieving mattresses.

The sensor mat is the size of an adult sized single bed, so it would be to big for a 140cm bed. The sensitivity can be adjusted, but 13kg is probably a bit too light to use this particular sensor.

There are a number of sensors on the market and you can find out more on theEpilepsy Action website. If you are unfamiliar with the type of epilepsy that the individual has (or what symptoms they develop during a seizure) it is important to seek advice by speaking to medical staff, family members and carers. This will help you to choose the right sensor to suit the individual.

Our sensor will reliably detect a person making repetitive movements while they are in bed, while ignoring non-repetitive movements such as a person changing position in their sleep. The sensitivity can be adjusted to suit the individual using a simple dial. It has been designed with simplicity and reliability in mind.

It is also important to remember that the sensor is designed to assist in the care of a person with epilepsy, but it isn't a medical device. This means that it shouldn't be used to diagnose or monitor the treatment of a person with epilepsy.
